Phra Tamnak Daeng or the Red Pavilion is situated within the compound of Wat Rakhang. A grandchild of King Rama I established this teakwood house to be dedicated to the temple. It also used to be a meditation ground for King Taksin the Great. The entire exterior is painted red and its interior green. Buddha statues, tripiṭaka (Buddhist scriptures) cabinets, and the sculpture of King Taksin the Great are housed inside this pavilion. People pay respect to this sacred place, be-lieving that it will bring them good fortune and peace.
